Mechanical Monsters Update!

Hi all, here's the latest on the project! 

• PDFs for all existing books are already out to backers. Our layout person on Mechanical Monsters had a major family health emergency and has had to pause work the last two weeks but things have stabilized and they are back at work and we look forward to having a new PDF for you next week for Mechanical Monsters 5E and to start work on the PF1 version!
• VTT modules are underway on Roll20 (should be available next month) and in the queue on Foundry (once current books are finished).
• The revised edition of the Alien Bestiary 5Eis with layout. We did a thorough review and edit of our original version from 5 years ago, and while the original InDesign files were lost in a hard drive crash our second layout person is rebuilding the file and incorporating the edits to create a revised edition we'll be sending out to all backers and to print.
• We've also started a new Basecamp project for Mechanical Monsters (PF2), which we plan to release under the upcoming ORC license once it's finalized. We'll run this project again for Pathfinder Second Edition fans and for any 5E and PF1 players who missed the project the first time!

First Wave of Orders Locked! And PF1 version manuscript complete!

Hi all,

Update time! 

• Orders Locked! We had around 80% of our surveys already in late last night (thanks so much to all of you for your quick attention!), so we went ahead and started locking orders and charging cards, sending out PDFs for everyone for the completed books! We've had a couple of people note that the Mechanical Monsters 5E PDF is does not have hyperlinks and the "frontmatter" intro paragraphs are placeholders. Yep, we know! That was the "all the important stuff is done, so let's get this to the backers ASAP" version. Layout is working on getting the final version together and we'll upload it when it's ready for you and the printer. 
• Mechanical Monsters (Pathfinder): We just received the final monsters from our PF1 developers today and I'll be sending the compiled document over to layout in the morning, where they'll get started on it as soon as the 5E book is finalized. 
• VTT News: Mechanical Monsters 5E is about halfway complete for Roll20, as our conversion first had to finish up the Faerie Bestiary (5E and PF2 versions). It's in the queue at Shard but we don't have an update from them yet. The Faerie Bestiary is our Foundry person's current project, but once that gets finished we are hoping we'll be able to offer you a Foundry version of Mechanical Monsters 5E. When that becomes available, we'll let you know in a Kickstarter update here!

Backerkit survey complete! Smoke Test sent!

Hi all,

We've had a very quick turnaround in getting our backer survey up and ready for you with Backerkit! The first phase of sending the survey is to send out the "smoke test," which just means sending the survey out to 5% of the backers, randomly selected, so that they can do their surveys and test the system to make sure everything is working as it is supposed to. If we discover any problems, we can then fix those before sending the survey out to the full backer list. 

We are delighted to get the survey out so quickly - it's a new record for LG even for our Quick-Starters - and we look forward to getting items fulfilled ASAP. 

• If your credit card errored in Kickstarter, you can pay any outstanding balance in Backerkit. Don't worry about going back to Kickstarter to resolve it. 
• We usually get about 60-70% of our surveys back within the first 3-5 days, so we will likely Lock Orders in about one week to get that first wave of people finalized, take care of any shipping charges, etc. Don't worry if you can't reply immediately; we'll revisit the list periodically and lock and finalize new batches of orders as they continue to come in.
• While we definitely want to get as many pledges settled as possible in the shortest amount of time that we can, if your financial situation necessitates a delay that's fine. You can wait until your next pay cycle or get your tax return or whatever other situation needs resolving and then do your Backerkit survey then. 
• If you are only getting PDF/VTT products and the system asks you for an address and won't let you continue without it, just enter a fake address like "123 Main St., Nowhere, WA 98000, USA" or phone number like 000-000-0000. Sometimes it gets stuck in some kind of logic loop, but you just have to put something in there. 

P.S. We did discover one mistake in the Kickstarter add-ons: The price for the Mechanical Adventures Bundle softcover was listed as $20, the same as the PDF bundle. The actual price of that softcover bundle is $40 (as it is for the softcover Mechanical Heroes Bundle). If you're one of the 24 backers who ordered that softcover set, Backerkit will note that you are $20 short of the final balance. If you decide $40 is more than you'd like to pay for those, let me know and I can manually switch your pledge to PDF-only for $20 or as a credit that you can apply to something else.

Hi all and nearly a thousand thank yous for our nearly a thousand backers, with a special shout-out to sgetty (#800), Jarred B (#900), and our final backer with just under a minute to go, Darrin D (#958)! 

I'm having a quick round of homemade fish and asada tacos (thank you to the wife and son for pulling dinner duty tonight) and then will start sending out download links through DrivethruRPG for all of the completed items. As noted earlier, since the Mechanical Monsters Pathfinder book was a late addition to the program, it is not going to be immediately available, but it'll be going into layout this weekend and should be available soon. 

To get your files from DrivethruRPG, log into your account. We've had folks unable to find their files because they didn't realize they weren't logged in. We have had some glitches with past Quickstarters with Drivethru files not coming through, but give it at least 24 hours if you don't see them immediately. If we run into trouble, we can try sending again and/or set up a Dropbox folder for downloads. In addition, all files can be downloaded from Backerkit once that is set up. I'll be working on the Backerkit survey next week, so hopefully it'll be ready to go by the following week to send out to all of you, where you can confirm your information, pay shipping, and add any additional items you like. If we have any new VTT options to offer in Backerkit, we'll let you know with an update here.
